What a blocklist is
Blocklists (also called blacklists or DNSBLs) are lists of domains and IP addresses that have sent spam. Inbox providers and spam filters check them on every message, and a listing can send your mail straight to spam or get it rejected.
Domain lists like Spamhaus DBL, SURBL and URIBL track domains that appear in spam. IP lists like Spamhaus ZEN and SpamCop track the servers that sent it. If you send through Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, your domain is what matters; their IPs aren’t yours.

Questions about email blacklists
How do I get my domain removed from a blacklist?
Fix what caused the listing first (a compromised account, a list with spam traps, or a sudden jump in volume), then request removal on the list’s own site. Spamhaus and most others delist for free once the cause is fixed.
Why does a list say "Couldn’t check"?
Some blocklists limit how many lookups they answer, and they sometimes refuse or time out. That isn’t a listing. Try again in a minute, or look the domain up on the list’s own site.
My IP is on the Spamhaus PBL. Is that bad?
The PBL lists IP ranges that their owners say shouldn’t send mail directly, like home and office connections. It’s normal if you send through a provider such as Google Workspace. It only matters if a mail server sends straight from that IP.
